William Stafford Freed (1834-1916)
- William Stafford Freed was born in Ontario, Canada, Mar. 20, 1834, making him 82 years and 9 months of age. In 1887 he went to the Pacific coast, living in British Columbia and in and around Seattle. He was a tinsmith by trade, which he followed until 75 years old. When a young man he joined the Baptist church, in which he was an earnest worker in church, Sunday school and prayer meeting. Four children survive him.
He died of heart failure in Washburn, Wis., Dec. 18, 1916.
Mr. Freed was the father of Nettie Freed, who made her home with her Mrs. M.G. Little, until her marriage.
Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Little Thursday afternoon. Rev. V.B. Servies preached the funeral sermon. Interment at the Lake Prairie cemetery. Undertaker John Castle had charge of the burial service.
