The following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the Nov. 28, 1920, Lowell Tribune, was found in the local history clipping files at the Lowell Public Library:

    Notice of Sale of School House

    The undersigned Trustee of Eagle Creek Township, Lake County, Indiana, hereby gives notice that he will on Monday, December 6, 1920, sell at public auction the frame school building situated in district number ten (10) and known as the Fifield school house, in said Eagle Creek Township, Lake County, Indiana. At the same time and place I will sell a part or all of the out buildings and a roll of linoleum used in the Geisel School house.

    Sold buildings and linoleum will be sold to the highest bidder for cash in hand, but such sale will not be made for less than two thirds of the appraised value of the buildings and linoleum.

    The sale will be made upon the premises where the buildings are located at the hour of two o'clock p.m. on said day.

    Right is reserved to reject any and all bids.
