    This image was sent in by Dave Berns, who identifies it as follows:

      "A recently rediscovered and identified tintype from the Civil War era. This image is owned by Danielle Coursey, a three-times great granddaughter of Adelbert D. Palmer. The tintype is enclosed in its original wooden frame and protected by copper foil and thin glass. It was made in February 1865 when A.D. Palmer enlisted in the 151st Indiana Volunteer Infantry. This regiment mustered at Indianapolis on March 5, 1865 and served at Nashville and Tullahoma. They mustered out on September 15, 1865. A.D. Palmer wears the uniform of a Union Army Private."
