Farmers Home Tavern and Restaurant

Farmers Home Tavern and Restaurant

Placeholder

Located in the parking lot across from where the Lowell Tribune now stands, Frank Ruple operated this saloon and restaurant. To the right is an old buggy shelter. On the extreme left, the building with the belfry, located on Mill Street was Lowell's first town hall. Between the town hall (in the background) and Farmers Home (in the foreground) is Amos Wagin's saloon located in the alley which is now the west boundary of the Clark St. parking lot. The house next to it was his residence. Frank Ruple later sold his Farmers Home to Chas. Stephens. Photo taken in about the 1890's.
