Louis Miletich with the Kennedys
- Louis Miletich, who lived in Lowell for 16 years, worked in Chicago as a security guard. The caption under this 1952 picture of him with the Kennedys reads as follows:
- While campaigning for the Senate in '52, Kennedy suffered a recurrance of his back injury. Finally, in late '54, he entered a hospital for a delicate operation, a spinal fusion. At one point he was close to death and Jackie had to rush to his side. He spent his hospital convalescence time in writing a book: Profiles in Courage.
