Sheridan School -- 4th Grade -- 1929
- The back of this photo was labeled "1929 -- 4th grade. Back Row, Bert -- left row; George -- 2nd row." The front of the photo was labeled "Miss Dahl's room." Mrs. Nancy Burgeson, original owner of the photo, identified it as follows: "This is Miss Dahl's room at the Sheridan School in 1929. Standing in the back is the teacher and five children. The middle child is Jerome Echterling. In the row at the far left, the second child from the front is Bert Stark. The girl behind him is Evelyn Echterling (married name, Hitzeman). In the second row from the left the girl in the front of the row was named Dottie. The boy behind her is George Stark."
The photo, now in the Halsted House Museum collection, further identies the following people: Doris (nee Wason) Brumbaugh as the first person in the second row, Henry Voltmer as the third person in the second row, Georgene (nee Schutz) Schmal as the fourth person in the second row, and Ruth (nee Schutz) Cunningham as the fourth child in the back, standing next to Jerome Echterling. A second copy of this same photo, also at the Halsted House Museum, is labeled on the back: "2nd Grade L.P. School -- Georgene 2nd row from left 4th."
