The following September 1, 1921, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 5:
    The photo: (b) It was constructed by WPA (Works Progress Administration) stone masons about 1935. It may have also qualified for the government's PWPA, the Public Works of Art program of 1933-34. The WPA was created to help provide economic relief to all who were suffering from the Great Depression of 1929 to early 1940's.

    No. 1 -- (c) Town Hall -- It was the site of the offices, police, fire station and jail, with a hall on upper level.

    No. 2 -- (d) Midtown Hardware -- It was a furniture store before being rebuilt for the theatre.

    No. 3 -- (b) northwest corner of Clark and Commercial -- The name "Death" can be seen atop the façade.

    No. 4 -- (c) St. Edward's Church and School, built in 1914.

    No. 5 -- (b) 1896 -- It was both grade and high school.

    No. 6 -- (c) Oakland Park, the site of Labor Day Celebrations for decades.

    No. 7 -- (c) 1976, the night of the Firemen's Ball.

    No. 8 -- (b) Bruce School House -- It once stood near the corner of IND 2 and Parrish Avenue, west of Lowell.

    No. 9 -- (c) Du Breuil & Keilman Co., a tall steam-powered grist mill.

    No. 11 -- (a) 1914 -- The first students receiving diplomas graduated in 1916.

    No. 12 -- (c) Rev. Timothy Horton Ball, Baptist preacher, educator and historian.

    No. 14 -- (a) Clark Street -- There was no bridge on Mill Street in 1909.

    No. 15 -- False -- The big fire of 1898 burned blocks on the NORTH side of Commercial Avenue.

    No. 16 -- Washington, Lincoln, Harrison and Jefferson Streets.

    No. 17-- (b) Hanover Center, Cook and Cedar Lake.

    No. 18 -- (d) Washington, which is across the street from the present Costas Market.
