- The photo: (b) It was constructed by WPA (Works Progress Administration) stone masons about 1935. It may have also qualified for the government's PWPA, the Public Works of Art program of 1933-34. The WPA was created to help provide economic relief to all who were suffering from the Great Depression of 1929 to early 1940's.
No. 1 -- (c) Town Hall -- It was the site of the offices, police, fire station and jail, with a hall on upper level.
No. 2 -- (d) Midtown Hardware -- It was a furniture store before being rebuilt for the theatre.
