Maude Sherard Henry (1874-1921)

- Maude Sherard, daughter of Frank and Sarah Sherard, was born February 1, 1874, and died at her home in Lowell, July 8, at the age of 47 years, 5 months and 7 days. She was united in marriage October 23, 1901, to Theodore Henry, of Denver, Colorado. To this union two sons -- Fabian and Sherard -- were born. The deceased lived in Lowell until her marriage and then lived in Denver for several years, later returning to Lowell, where she has since lived with her family with the exception of a year [or] so in Gary. She was a talented woman and was highly respected by her many acquaintances. She was a member of the Lowell Woman's club. She was a home woman and her greatest desire in life was to make a pleasant home for her family; in this she succeeded. She was only sick a few hours and her passing away was a great shock to her family and friends.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday and there was a large attendance of sorrowing relatives and friends. Rev. C.A. Brown preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery, in charge of Undertaker Weaver. The following acted as pall-bearers: Ed. Wheeler, Will Driscoll, Fred Sanger, Dr. J.A. Dinwiddie, Will Hack, George Foster.
She leaves to mourn her, her husband, two sons, her aged mother, one brother, Charles Sherard, and a host of other relatives and friends. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow.
