    Former Shelby man dies

    John W. Ahlgrim, 86, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, June 23. A retired carpenter, he was a former resident of Shelby.

    He is survived by two sons, Wesley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Max of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Fred and Bert of California; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Sirois of Shelby, Mrs. Clara Jones of Lowell, Mrs. Anna Brown of LaPorte, Mrs. Edith Lamore of Grant Park and Mrs. Emma Gates of Hammond; and ten grandchildren

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Sheets Funeral Home in Lowell with Rev. Stanley Rolston officiating. Burial was made in the Lowell Cemetery.
