HOME WEDDING
A pretty noon wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. August Hadders, of West Creek township, on Wednesday, March 10, 1926, when Miss Mabel Stadt, the oldest daughter of Mrs. Hadders, was united in marriage to Ernest Bahr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Bahr, of Cedar Creek township.The home was decorated in pink and white festooning, accentuated with white wedding bells. The bride was very lovely in a dress of white satin crepe, carrying a bouquet of white carnations. Her sister, Miss Madeline Stadt, as bride's maid, was charming in a dress of pink, carrying a cluster of pink carnations. The groom and his brother, Milford Bahr, as attendant, presented a fine appearance, wearing the conventional dark afternoon suits.
The impressive ring ceremony was read by Rev. F.C. Gleason, Presbyterian minister of the Lake Prairie church. A song "The Bells of St. Mary," sung by Miss Stadt and Miss Hadders, followed the ceremony.
A wedding dinner was served, having as an attractive table piece a delicious white wedding cake.
After dinner the bride and groom and the bride's maid and best man drove to the home of the groom's parents, who were unable to attend the nuptials on account of the recent illness of Mrs. Bahr. After making the call the newly weds departed on a few days honey-moon out of town.
The young couple are among the community's best known younger set, both of them graduates of the Lowell High school. They have countless friends who wish them a happy and prosperous journey on their matrimonial way. They will reside on the Buckley farm east of Lowell.
