In the Dec. 27, 1917, issue of The Lowell Tribune, Kenneth Sheets is listed as serving in the U.S. Army (page 6, column 6).

This article from an unknown source was found in the Local History Files at the Lowell Public Library (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 2, page 34):
    Kenneth A. Sheets, age 86, of Lowell, passed away Sunday, January 19, 1975 at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point. Survivors: wife, Martha L; two sons, William A. of Lowell, and John A. of Lowelll; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Donald (Velma) Quincy of St. Petersburg, Florida.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 1975 at the First United Methodist Church in Lowell with Rev. Russell Wilbur officiating. Burial in Lowell Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, at the Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, Indiana.
    Mr. Sheets was the retired owner of the Sheets Funeral Home and the Sheets Furniture Store. He was a World War I veteran; life member of the American Legion Post No. 101 of Lowell; was a 32nd degree Mason; life member of the Masonic Lodge No. 378 of Lowell; member of the Scottish Rite Ft. Wayne Consistory; member of the Orak Shrine of Hammond; member of the First United Methodist Church in Lowell and former instructor at the Metropolitan Business College in Chicago, Ill. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
    Contributions may be made to the Shine Crippled Childrens Hospital.
