Bonnie Spry, 1948
- The caption under this photo reads: "BONNIE SPRY, freshman of Lowell, Ind. Her escort at the dance was Ed Harding, senior and president of Cary club, of Ft. Thomas, Ky."
Bonne Spry Combs added the following information with the photo:
- I loved my years at LHS. I was, girls' sports editor, vice president of
the science club, secretary-treasurer of the Latin club, honor points winner,
and in many other activities.
On February 29, 1948, my picture appeared in the Chicago Tribune, (Chicago Sunday Tribune) "YOUTH ON CAMPUS." Men of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, and feminine guests were pictured at a huge dance held in the Purdue Memorial Union. Hosts were students of Cary club, composed of 2,200 residents of Cary Memorial Halls. The dance was a pre-war custom revived in 1948.
I am married to Thomas (Tom ) Combs, class of '43.
