William A. "Skippy" Buchanan, Jr.

The following article was found in the Feb. 17, 1949, Lowell Tribune on page 1, column 3:

    Little Boy, 5, Victim of Polio

    William A. (Skippy) Buchanan, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Buchanan of Indianapolis, passed away last Saturday at a hospital there, a victim of polio. He had been admitted to the hospital.

    William was a native of Indianapolis and attended the Mary Nicholson Kindergarten at Public School No. 7. His father is employed as an editor with the Taylor Publishing Co. His mother is the former Betty Stuppy of Lowell.

    Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary, with burial in Darlington, Ind. The Rev. Roy B. Connor, pastor of Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church, officiated.

    Surviving besides the parents are a sister, Lynn Ellyn; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stuppy, Lowell, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lola M. Buchanan, Indianapolis.
