The following February 5, 1925 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 6:
    L. Vandercar, third child of Abram and Isabel Vandercar, was born near Orchard Grove, February 22, 1856, and passed away at her home in Lowell , 2 o'clock in the afternoon, January 27, 1925, age 68 years, 11 months and 5 days.

    She was married to Julius O. Clark, May 10, 1874. Two daughters were born of this union, Hattie I., Mrs. William Spry, and Lenora A.

    On November 11, 1917, her beloved companion passed away. She sold her homestead where they had lived for forty years and moved to Lowell where she has since resided.

    June 22 she united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Orchard Grove. She loved her church with a passion of sacred devotion. Its services were her delight. Her soul was richly fed at church worship. She was a faithful member of the Missionary Society and the Ladies Aid Society.

    She leaves of her immediate family, her two daughters and sons-in-law, two grand children, Mrs. Roy Pattee and Milton Spry, and one great grandchild, Julius Pattee. Three sisters, Mrs. Niles Clement, Mrs. Simon Hill and Miss Jennie Vandercar , and one brother, Albert Vandercar, survive her.

    Mrs. Clark loved her home, her family and her church. She lived for them. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."

    Funeral was held at the Methodist church Thursday at 2 o'clock. Sermon by Rev. C.A. Brown. Interment in the Lowell cemetery. Undertaker William Sheets had charge of the burial service.

    Pall bearers: Albert Foster, Cyrus Dickinson, Emery Thomas, Oren Eskridge, Fremont Nichols.
