The following article was found in the May 6, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 1, column 4:

    MRS. PERMELIA MCKINNEY, 78, PASSED AWAY SUNDAY

    Mrs. Permelia McKinney, 78, died at her home east of Cedar Lake, Sunday. She had lived near Lowell with her family for a number of years. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago.

    Funeral services were held at the Creston Methodist church Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., in charge of E. L. Worley. Internment was made beside her husband in the Creston cemetery, in charge of Kenneth Sheets.

    Mrs. McKinney is survived by three sons, James of Cedar Lake, Charles and Ray of Lowell and four daughters, Sophia and Bertha McKinney of Cedar Lake and Mrs. John Jarret of Seymour, Ind., and Mrs. Henry Fancher of Merryville, Tenn.
