The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:

    Delightful Evening

Mr. and Mrs. A. Wilkinson entertained a number of friends at their home Sunday evening, Jan. 18, and the time was spent in progressive cinch, which afforded much amusement for all. At the expiration of nine games, the games won by each player was counted up and the prize for first honor lay between Misses Daisy Dinwiddie and Louise Elliot, but the tie was broken and the prize, a beautiful sterling silver spoon on which was engraved a picture of Fort Dearborn, was awarded to Miss Dinwiddie.

The prize for the gentleman winner of the most games was awarded to Thos. Grant, and it consisted of a silver mounted rabbit's foot. Mrs. Johnson took the honor for the fewest games won which consisted of a nice, red apple.

Lunch was then served on the tables in the various rooms, which consisted of coffee, chicken sandwiches, olives, pickles, cake, salted nuts and apples, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It was at a late hour when the guests thanked Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson for so delightful an evening's entertainment and bid them good night.

Those present were: H.M. Johnson and wife, C.E. Nichols and wife, Dr. Willits and wife, Thos. Grant and wife, E.E. Woodcock and wife, Mrs. E.R. Lynch, Misses Daisy Dinwiddie, Nora Pattee, Lizzie Grant, Louise Elliot, Mrs. Mary Smith and Will Hack.
