The following item was in the June 10, 1920, Lowell Tribune (page 1, column 6):
- Carl J. Ruley and Alice J. Powell were united in marriage Saturday, June 12th, at 5 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ruley and is a young man who is highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Powell. She is a most estimable young lady and has a host of friends. The ceremony was performed by Rec. C.A. Brown, pastor of the M.E. church, in the presence of the immediate families of the bride and groom. The newly married couple will probably make their home in Gary. We join the friends of the bride and groom in extending congratulations and best wishes.
