The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Mrs. Alice Eilerman, 84, Lifelong Resident Here, Died Last Friday
Death last Friday, October 15, closed the life of a sweet little lady, Mrs. Alice Eilman, who would have been 85 on October 26th.Alice Lura was born at Creston on October 26, 1870, the daughter of Amos and Celeste Thompson.
In the year 1895 she was united in marriage to Ora Lloyd, and they were the parents of two sons, Herbert and Verne. Mr. Lloyd died in 1935, and Verne passed away in 1946.
Later in life she was married to Herman Eilerman, who died in 1946.
Survivors include her son, Herbert Lloyd of Whiting; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mrs. Helen Linderman and Mrs. Grace Parmely; one brother, Irvin J. Thompson of Mesa, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held at Sheets Funeral Home at 2:00 pm., Monday, October 18, with Rev. E.L. Worley officiating. Interment was in Lake Prairie cemetery.
