According to an Internet database on Illinois veterans of the Civil War, Frank Brandon was a private in Company K of the 147th Illinois Infantry. His residence at the time of enlistment was in West Creek. Many people at that time used their middle names in place of their first names, so Frank Brandon may have been the same person as the B.F. Brandon on the monument.
