C.F. Dickinson
- On Saturday evening, July 13, about 50 members of the congregation gathered at the Church of Christ. When all were assembled, Mr. Poer sent word to C.F. Dickinson to come over to the church. Mr. Dickinson's surprise was genuine and complete, but his customary smile and geniality showed his pleasure. Congratulations upon his 79th birthday anniversary were showered upon him. His birthday is July 20, but as this date occurs during the Cedar Lake Conference the surprise was a week early.
Ice cream and cake were served, and a happy evening was enjoyed.
Mr. Poer gave a short talk expressing the gratefulness of the congregation to Mr. Dickinson for his many years of tireless work. His labors date back to the time when as a boy of 19 he hauled the first load of material for the building of the old brick church.
