Clara M. Guimond (1858-1905)

Clara M. Guimond (1858-1905)

The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:
Clara M. Guimond was born in Kankakee, Will County, Ill., May 29th, 1858, and died at her home in Butte City, Montana, January 7th, 1905, where she had resided for the past sixteen years and was loved and respected by all who knew her.

She belonged to the Eastern Star order which held services at her home using their beautiful and impressive burial service. She was also a member of the Musicians Union.

There were many beautiful floral offerings by friends, among them a floral star from her home chapter.

The remains were brought from Butte, Montana, to the home of her mother, Mrs. Blatchy, Lowell, Ind., where a service was conducted Friday morning at ten o'clock, by Rev. D. Idle. The interment was in the Lowell Cemetery.
