Clark D. Farwell (1843-1899)
- Clark D. Farwell was born at Brunswick, Lake county, Indiana, March 29, 1843, and died at his home in Englewood, Ill., January 23,1899, at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 24 days. He enlisted in Co. G. 12th Indiana Cavalry, doing his full duty as a soldier of the Republic. On October 5, 1873, was united in marriage to Miss Jennie A. Ditmer. To this union three sons were born, Willard C., Walter E. and Hudson; the latter dying in 1875. April 17, 1884, Mr. Farwell was called upon to mourn the death of his wife. He then resided in West Creek township. He was again united in marriage to Miss Jennie Belshaw of West Creek, April 22, 1885. To this union two children were born: George C. who was born November 4, 1886, and died October 20, 1889, and Sylvia Pearl who was born September 20, 1888. Clark as he was familiarly called was an open hearted, generous man, always ready to do a kindness for a friend, and so far as we know was without an enemy. He leaves a wife, two sons, one daughter, father and mother, one sister, several nephews and nieces and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. His funeral occurred from the Methodist church, Thursday, January 26th, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. John Bruce officiated, assisted by Rev. Randall. Interment in the Lowell Cemetery. The Tribune extends its sincere sympathy to the bereaved friends.
