Memorial Rites Friday For Clayton Randolph
The Lowell community was shocked and deeply grieved by the sudden death Monday, Nov. 14, of Clayton Randolph, 61, of 250 West Oakley Ave.
A retired auto dealer, Clayton was managing the Lowell Legion Post 101 bowling lanes and was stricken with a fatal heart attack about one o'clock as he sat at his desk. He retired four year ago after selling his Dodge-Plymouth agency to Carl Schmelter.
Clayton was born in Crown Point, Oct. 31, 1899, the son of Wm. and Dora (Kilborn) Randolph. On July 16, 1921, he married Alice Love of Lowell and resided here 39 years.
A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Lowell American Legion Post 101 and the Masonic Colfax lodge 378. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife Alice; a son Richard who is teaching in Paris, France, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert, Jannie Kuiper of Lowell; also seven grandchildren; two brothers, Fred of South Chicago, and George of Crown Point, besides a host of friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday Nov. 18 in the Eskridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Claude J. Eaton, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Lowell cemetery.
