The following April 10, 1969, Lowell Tribune article (page 1, columns 7-8) was found in the Lowell Public Library local history files (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 5, page 77):

    Dies in Viet Nam

    Spec. 4 Daren Lee Drinski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Drinski of 503 Joe Martin Road, Lowell, died in Vietnam Monday, March 31, 1969.

    The 21-year-old youth was born October 26, 1947, and joined the U.S. Army on January 11, 1968. He attended Lowell Grade and High Schools and was a member of the Lowell V.F.W.

    Surviving Daren are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Drinski; two brothers, Ralph R. Drinski, a sergeant in the Army stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, and Michael Ray, Lowell; and one sister, Mrs. Sandra J. Young of Lowell.

    According to Army officials the body will arrive by plane at O'Hare Field in Chicago on Wednesday afternoon.

    Funeral services will be held Friday morning, April 11th, at 11 a.m. at the Sheets Funeral Home in Lowell, with Rev. Matthew Spebar officiating. Burial will be in Lowell Cemetery.
