David Bruckman (1843-1924)

The following October 23, 1924 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 4, column 1:
    David Bruckman was born in Germany on August 15, 1843, and died at his home in Lowell, Indiana, on October 17, 1924, at the age of 81 years 1 month and 2 days. He came to the United States with his parents when he was four years old and has lived in this vicinity most of his life. In 1861 he enlisted as a soldier in the civil war and served his country faithfully until the end of the war.

    In 1872 he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Hill. To this union six children were born. Three died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. A. J. Moxell, passed away at the age of 23 years.

    The deceased was a man who had a large circle of friends who will sincerely mourn his death. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Lowell. Mr. Bruckman was a kind and loving husband and father.

    He is survived by his wife, two sons, Edward C. and Charles L., five grand-children , two great-grand-children, one half-sister, Mrs. Thomas Arnott, of Lowell and a host of other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday at 2 P.M. Rev. Nickerson, pastor of the church, preached the sermon. Burial was made in the Lowell cemetery. Undertaker Weaver had charge of the burial service.
