WELL KNOWN LADY CALLED
MRS. E.N. GRAGG PASSES AWAY AT HOME OF HER NIECE IN WELLMAN, IOWA
The sad news of the death of Mrs. E.N. Gragg was received here last Saturday. She, with her husband, on their way back to their home in Modesto, California, had stopped at Wellman, Iowa, to visit a niece, Mrs. H. Ross, and family, and she was taken seriously sick while there and lingered until Saturday when she passed away.
Funeral services were held in Valparaiso at 11 a.m. Tuesday in charge of Rev. C.A. Brown, former pastor of the Lowell M.E. church. Interment was made in the cemetery in Morgan township, near Kouts. Obituary next week.

Gragg, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Byrl Cornell and son Keith, Mrs. William McClellan, Mrs. Wm. Tatman and daughter Alice, Mrs. Fred Sanger, Mrs. Silas Hogan, Mrs. Mildren Hayden and son Gene, Mrs. Lizzie Davis, Mrs. Ed Ebert, Miss Mamie Nichols and Miss Elizabeth Grant.

- Mrs. Ernest N. Gragg, whose maiden name was Miss Deet Maxwell,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Maxwell, was born in Morgan township,
Porter county, Indiana, December 11, 1865, and passed away at the home
of her niece, Mrs. H.E. Ross, at Wellman, Iowa, on November 12, 1932, at
the age of 66 years, 11 months and 1 day.
On September 17, 1889, she was united in marriage to Ernest N. Gragg. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Gragg resided in Lowell, where she made hosts of friends. Several years ago she with her husband moved to Modesto, California, where they have since resided.
Mrs. Gragg with her husband and sister, Mrs. Cornelius Hermance, left Valparaiso about two months ago for their home in Modesto, after a visit with friends and relatives in this section. After arriving at the home of her niece in Wellman, Ia., she was taken sick with influenza, from which she never recovered.
Funeral services were held at the _______funeral home in Valparaiso on Tuesday of last week and interment was made in the family lot in the Adams cemetery in Morgan township in Porter county.
Surviving besides her husband, are one brother, Edward Maxwell, of Valparaiso; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hermance and Miss Molly Maxwell of Valparaiso, and Mrs. Helen Detlef, of Kouts. A niece, Mrs. H.E. Ross, was reared by Mr. and Mrs. Gragg.
