Diamond Farm Herefords Win Grand Champion at Chicago Feeders Show

Grand champion of the annual Feeders' Show held last Friday at the Union Stockyards, Chicago, was awarded the Diamond Farm, West Creek Township, owned by Leon Bailey and Ray McIntire.

Diamond Farm had eight loads of Herefords (180 cattle) and three of the loads were awarded 1st, 3rd, and 5th prizes. The grand champion load sold for $25 per hundred weight.

The strictly feeders show featured five classes -- none ready for slaughter.

The Herefords exhibited and sold by the Diamond Farm were purchased as calves in Denver last January, and pastured until now, gaining in growth and in weight, and were ready for the feed lot when sold Friday.

The Diamond Farm exhibits annually at the big show sponsored by the yards.
