This Lowell Tribune article, found in the July 5, 1945, issue (page 1, column 5) lists four boys from the Lowell area as going into the army:

This April 26, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 3, column 3:

    Donald Dickerson Wounded in Korea

    Donald R. Dickerson, son of Mrs. Ada Dickerson of Cedar Lake, is reported wounded.

    The 25-year old G.I. previously had been wounded seriously before Christmas but after his shrapnel wounds were mended he was returned to duty. He is not believed seriously hurt.

    Donald, who was born in Hammond, attended Lowell high school and served in World War II. He re-enlisted about a year ago.
