The following October 19, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5 column 4:
- In honor of the birthday of Mrs. Harold Sorensen, a 7 o'clock pot luck dinner was served at the home of her parents, the Fred Homfelds, Monday night. Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kruger and daughter, Elaine, of Hammond; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dooley and son, Dean of East Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Deitel, Carl Sorensen, and Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Black of Crown Point; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sorensen and Mr. and Mrs. Homfeld. Mrs. Sorensen received many gifts.
This February 8, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 3:
- Mr. and Mrs. Fred Homfeld were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sorenson at a theater party in Hammond and dinner at Tiebel's Tuesday evening, Feb. 6th, in honor of the Sorensons' first wedding anniversary.
