The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Harriet Hoevet Bennett:

    BRIDE-TO-BE HONORED

    Wednesday night, October 6th, a shower was given by Mrs. Herman J. Holtz in honor of Miss Evelyn Doty, who will become the bride of Harvey Wehrmann, son of Herman Wehrmann, of Beecher, on October 16. The evening was spent playing bunco, prizes going to Miss Louise Faith, Mrs. Archie Doty, Mrs. Ed Hoevet and Mrs. Cecil Doty. This was followed by the bride-to-be unwrapping all her lovely gifts which were placed on a table decorated for the occasion with pink and white streamers and a center piece of beautiful flowers and white taped candles.

    Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess, after which the guests departed, wishing the bride-to-be many years of happy married life.
