Fremont J. Wells (1858-1921)

The following February 2, 1921, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 3:
    Fremont J. Wells was born at Momence, Ill., April 16, 1858. He united in marriage with Belle Burton Nov. 21, 1879. Three sons and three daughters were born of this marriage. One son died in infancy.

    Mr. Wells was converted and joined the U.B. church near Momence several years ago. On the organization of the Belshaw M.E. church he became a charter member. He was a conscientious, devoted Christian man, quiet and retiring in disposition but earnest and upright in his daily life.

    He died the morning of Jan. 25, 1921, age 62 years, 9 months, 9 days. His loved companion who journeyed with him more than forty years mourns his going. The surviving children are Mrs. Birdie Templeton, of Linden, Iowa; Mrs. Clarence Brown, Mrs. Ray Heany, Timothy and Guy all living in the vicinity of Belshaw.

    Funeral services were held Thursday at the home, Rev. C.A. Brown officiating. Interment was made in the Momence cemetery. Undertaker Weaver had charge of the burial service.
