The following July 19, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 8, column 3:

Harold Vallee left for Camp Atterbury Monday morning.

An article in the July 26, 1945, paper (page 1, column 5) further added that Harold E. Vallee of Creston was the only local boy from southern Lake County inducted in the army on July 16th.

This Lowell Tribune article was found in the September 27, 1945, issue (page 2, column 4):

Pvt. Harold Valee spent the week end with his mother, Mrs. Oca Vallee.
