The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Mrs. Oca Vallee Honored On 80th Birthday

Mrs. Oca Vallee was pleasantly surprised on Easter day, when her family came to help her celebrate her 80th birthday at her home in Creston.

The day was spent in visiting and showing family movies. A pot luck dinner was enjoyed.

Those present were her children: Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Stillson of Crown Point; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Vallee of Hammond; Mr. and Mrs. George Vallee of Cedar Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Theis, Mrs. Mary Hatch of Lowell; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Burnham, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vallee of Creston. There were 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren present.

She received many lovely gifts and cards including a beautiful plant from the Home Demonstration club of which she is a charter member.
