Herbert M. Esty

Herbert M. Esty

The following September 1, 1921 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 3:
Herbert M. Esty died at his home 1800 Vine street, Alhambra, California, Sunday, November 6, 1921, at the age of 57 years after six years of suffering.

Mr. Esty was one of our most highly esteemed citizens when he was a resident here. For some time years ago he conducted a general store in Lowell and later moved onto his farm north of Lowell, where he continued to reside until his health failed and he was compelled to go to California. The friends of the family back here in their old home extend sincere sympathy in their bereavement.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Lucy Esty, he is survived by seven daughters and one son -- Mrs. Cecile Woodard, Chico, Cal.; Mrs. J.H. Betker, VanNeys, Cal.; Miss Evelyn Esty, Washington, D.C.; Merritte, Marcy, Ruth, Dorothy, and Elizabeth, all of Alhambra; and four grandchildren.
