    OBITUARY

    Ida Estella (Gragg) Ennis, daughter of John and Elizabeth (DeWitt) Gragg, was born in Lowell, Oct. 14, 1860, and passed away at her home in Steger, Ill., at the age of 87 years, two months and 25 days.

    Her father came to Lowell in 1851 from Naples, N.Y., and built a home east of town, which was later known for years as Tuttle's Hill, where Mrs. Ennis was born.

    She was the last of the John Gragg children; her brothers, Allen, Emory and Charles, preceded her in death; also three sisters: two in infancy and one, Mrs. W.H. Mudge, passed away in 1888.

    Mrs. Ennis was married to George Ennis of St. John, Ind., on April 8, 1879. She was the oldest member holding membership in the Lowell Christian church.

    She passed away Jan. 8th, 1948, and leaves to mourn: her husband, George Ennis; three sons, George Jr. of Tampa, Florida, who at present is in Drewfield Hospital and could not attend his mother's funeral; Harold of Lansing, Ill.; and Vernon, of Steger, Ill.; and one daughter, Mrs. Marie Black, of Chicago Hgts., Ill. Two sons passed away in infancy and two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Fancher, of Crown Point, passed away in 1916, and Mrs. Fred Gordon, of Lowell, in 1932.

    The funeral took place at Lowell Christian church and burial in Lowell cemetery on Sun., Jan. 11, 1948.
