The following September 28, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 3 column 3:

FORMER RESIDENTS OBSERVE 66TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Hoshaw, former Lowell residents, who for the past several years have resided at Crown Point, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary September 5, and from the Crown Point register we take the following account of the memorable day:

A quiet day at home with relatives and close friends and a family dinner at noon marked the 66th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Hoshaw in their North Union Street home, Friday, Sept. 15.

Lifelong resident[s] of the community, it is thought they hold the distinction of having been married the longest of any couple in the near vicinity.

Mr. Hoshaw is hale and hearty and besides caring for Mrs. Hoshaw who is quite feeble, performs the household duties and does the family shopping, walking to and from the grocery stores. Their two children, Floyd and Mrs. Bert Hayden, both of Crown Point, are with them frequently.

There are 26 great grandchildren and 16 grandchildren, five of whom are in the service: Verne Schuttz of East Chicago, now on the Island of Corsica in the Mediterranean; Allen Denny of the Seabees at Camp Parks, Calif.; Sgt. Wilbur Hoshaw, Ft. Bragg, N.C.; Pvt. Willard Hoshaw, Morrison Field, Fla., and Clarence Liston in Texas.

Gifts of cards, flowers and other tokens with well wishes were presented throughout the day by neighbors and friends.
