The following article was found in the Jan. 14, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 4, column 1:
Lewis E. Worley, son of the late Nathan and Melissa Worley, was born May 2nd, 1887, at Lowell, Ind., and departed this life on March 12th, 1950, at St. Margaret's hospital at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 10 days.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Sargent on September 6th, 1906, and to this union four children were born, Fredrick Earl of Highland; Benson of Schereville; Mrs. Ruth Brockus of Tucson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Irma Einshustra of DeMotte.

He made his home in and around Lowell until about 30 years ago when he and his family moved to Hammond where he has continued to reside. He was an employee of the Pratt Food Company up until his death.

In early manhood he accepted his Christ and holds his membership in the Christian church of Lowell.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Nancy; his four children, Earl, Benson, Ruth and Irma; a stepson, Fire Chief Adelbert Sargent of Hammond; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; three brothers, Frank and Edmond of Lowell, Edson of Sheldon; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Frashour of Hebron and Mrs. Ida Westberg of Chicago; and a large number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

Short services were held Wednesday at the Snyder Funeral Home in Hammond at 9:30 a.m. after which the body was brought to the Sheets Funeral Home where services were held at two o'clock with Rev. Peter Ulstra, minister of the Holland Reformed church of Hammond, officiating. Interment was in the Lowell cemetery.

NOTE: The Worley Family Records lists Lewis Worley's death date as March 13, 1950, and his wedding date as Sept. 10, 1906. It also lists his daughter Irma's married name as "Eenshuistra." Although this obituary uses "E." as Lewis Worley's middle initial, the following article and the full name that appears in The Worley Family Record is more likely correct, with "Milford" being his middle name.
