The following Dec. 2, 1948, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 6:

MRS. LYDIA PETERSON CALLED LAST WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Lydia Peterson, 74, who had been a resident of Lowell the past 25 years, passed away at a nursing home in Gary, where she had been a patient for some months, Wednesday of last week.

Born in Lockport, Ill., on May 24, 1874, she was 74 years of age. She came here with her late husband, Owen, about 25 years ago, and had been a resident here since that time.

Funeral services conducted by E.L. Worley, were held at the Sheets funeral home last Friday, with interment in charge of Kenneth Sheets beside her husband in Lowell cemetery.
