FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR MRS. ROY SHEFFER
Mrs. Roy Sheffer passed away this morning at Gary Mercy hospital following several weeks of serious illness.Funeral services will be held at the Sheets funeral home Saturday, April 24, at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Roy Sheffer, 65, Laid to Rest Saturday
Mrs. Roy Sheffer, 65, passed away Thursday morning, April 22, at Gary Mercy hospital following several weeks of illness.Born Feb. 26, 1889 in McLean County, Illinois, Marcia Newell (Womeldorff) Sheffer was the daughter of Warren M. and Emma Manker Womeldorff. She was united in marriage to Charles Roy Sheffer on September 7, 1910 at Champaign, Ill., and they were the parents of three daughters. In early life she was a member of the Foosland, Illinois M.P. church, and later the Presbyterian Church at Lake Village.
Surviving with her husband are their three daughters, Mrs. Sibyl Borem of Morocco, Mrs. Lucile Kind of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Hazel Lappie of Lowell, also one sister, Mrs. Alpha Nutter of Billings, Montana, 14 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews besides a host of friends. The Sheffers had resided in southern Lake County for many years. The family moved to Indiana in 1920 and have lived near Demotte, Lake Village, Morocco, and Lowell.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, in the Sheets funeral home. Rev. E.L. Worley officiated, assisted by Rev. Harold Hotchkiss. Mrs. George Foster sang, accompanied by Mrs. A Edmondson.
Interment was in the Lowell cemetery. Pallbearers were the sons-in-law, Tillman Borem, Lawrence King, Earl Lappie, and grandsons Denzil and David Borem and Dale Rainford. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were the Tillman Borem family and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rainford of Morocco, the Lawrence King family of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Borem and Judy Helfer of Schneider, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sypult, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Sypult of Hammond, Mrs. Arthur Kollar and Dianne of Gary, Mr. and Mrs. George Sypult of Lake Village, and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Manker of Manteno, Ill.
