The following August 17, 1939, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 1:

FORMER RESIDENT CALLED

Mrs. P.L. Rigg, who formerly lived here with her family, passed away in the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago Saturday after an illness of several weeks. She was 63 years of age at the time of her death.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. P.L. Rigg, three daughters and two sons; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Sirois, of Lowell, and Mrs. Jessie Barr, of Crown Point, and one brother, C.J. Hill, of Chicago.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Lowell on Monday. The service was in charge of Rev. C.A. Brown, of Chesterton, former pastor of the M.E. church here. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery in charge of Weaver and Son.
