Patrick Buckley (1840-1923)

- Patrick Buckley, youngest son of Dennis and Catherine Buckley, was born in Ireland, Jan. 15, 1840, and came to America with his parents when eight years of age. He passed away at his home in Lowell Feb. 12, 1923, aged 83 years. Mr. Buckley was a soldier in the Civil War, having enlisted in November 1864 and served until the end of the war in 1865. He was a progressive farmer and succeeded in amassing a comfortable sustenance for himself and family. He was appreciated and loved by his entire family. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, four sons, two daughters and a host of minor relatives and friends. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Father Ryder, was held at St. Edward Catholic church, Feb. 1. Interment in the Catholic cemetery under auspices of the American Legion.
