The following February 18, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Dick Keithley, AOM S/c, son of George Keithley, has been transferred from a Florida base to Puerto Rico.

This March 30, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    R.A. Keithly A.S., son of George Keithly, Naval V-12 student, is now attending the University of Illinois. "Dick," who has seen 8 months overseas service, transferred to the Naval air corps and is taking preliminary work at the university.

The following June 29, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 3, column 2:

    Spends Week-end at Home

    Richard Keithley, A/S who is taking the Navy V-12 program at the University of Illinois, spent the week end at home here.

This Lowell Tribune article was found in the July 19, 1945, issue (page 2, column 1):
    Richard Keithley, A/S, who was here last week visiting his sisters, Mrs. Shirley Peterson and daughters and Mrs. Theodore Nomanson and family, has recently been transferred to Notre Dame university to continue his studies.

An October 4, 1945, Lowell Tribune article (page 5, column 4) mentioned that Apprentice Seaman Dick Keithley and S/Sgt. and Mrs. John A. Martin and daughter Jo Ann attended the first get-together the George Keithley family held in four years.


This December 13, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
    Richard Keithley, S 1/c, received his discharge from the navy and arrived home the last of the week.
