This Lowell Tribune article was found in the July 26, 1945, issue (page 2, column 1):

A recent letter received by the Calvin Vinnedges from their son, Pvt. Robert M. Vinnedge, said he was still stationed in Germany. Their other son, S/Sgt. Leslie, is still in the Panama Canal zone. Both boys are feeling fine.
