Robert S. Kuiper
POPULAR COUPLE WED IN PRETTY HOME RITES
Baskets of delicate yellow gladioli banked the fireplace and lighted tapers in crystal candelabra adorned the mantel in the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Randolph on Tuesday evening when at eight o'clock, their daughter, Jeanette, and Robert Kuiper of Crown Point exchanged marriage vows in an impressive double-ring ceremony. Rev. Paul A. Reisen, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated at the nuptial rites.Mrs. Arthur Edmonson, at the piano, played "Because" and "I Love You Truly" and "Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin" as the lovely bride, preceded by the matron of honor, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Richard Randolph, descended the stairs on the arm of her father and met the groom and his best man, Edward Kuiper, his cousin, before the fireplace. At the close of the service, Mrs. Edmonson rendered "The Lord's Prayer."
The pretty brunette bride chose for her wedding costume a white gabardine suit, accented by dark accessories and complimented by a shoulder corsage of red roses. She wore a choker necklace of pearls and matching earrings.
A corsage of white carnations and white accessories made attractive color contrast for the navy suit worn by the matron of honor.
At the candle-lighted dining table during the reception which followed the ceremony, the bride cut her beautiful wedding cake for members of the immediate families.
Later the young couple left on a honeymoon, the new Mrs. Kuiper traveling in her wedding suit.
The bride graduated from Lowell high school and attended DePauw university in Greencastle and Indiana university at Bloomington and is a talented vocalist. She is employed by the Lake County Title company in Crown Point.
Mr. Kuiper, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Kuiper who reside east of Crown Point, attended high school in Iowa and was engaged in farming before he entered the military service. He has been stationed with the Airborne Division at Camp Breckinridge, Ky., but will leave Tuesday for a camp in California from where he expects to be sent overseas. His bride will remain with her parents.
