Samuel Kelley Nichols (1859-1920)
- Samuel Kelley Nichols was born March 11, 1859, in Lake county, Indiana, where he has lived through his life. He died January 4, 1920, at his home in Lowell, at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was united in marriage March 7, 1896, to Miss Ola Wright. To this union was born five children, Glenwood, Iva Pearl, Guy Eddie, Elery Warren and Margaret Ella, who died in infancy. He was a man who had the respect and esteem of all who knew him. He leaves to mourn him, his wife, three sons and one daughter, two brothers Andrew and Fremont Nichols, three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Fancher, Mrs. Marshal King and Mrs. George Bruckman, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday, January 6, at 2 p.m.; Rev. E.F. Winkler, pastor of the Christian church preached the funeral sermon. Interment in the Lowell cemetery.
