The John Nichols Family Tree
- My great-great grandfather John Nichols was born in 1805 in Wheeling,
VA. (W. VA). His family moved to Fairfield County, Ohio, approx. 1807.
He married Elizabeth Bibler and moved to what is now Marion County,
Ohio, in approx. 1827. He moved to Lake County, Ind. -- Pleasant Grove
-- in 1853. His 10 oldest children were born in Ohio -- the youngest,
Nellie, was born in the Lowell area. Several of John's children,
including my great grandfather, Samuel, also moved to Lake Couinty in
1853 (approx.). Samuel of course begat Andrew (1864) who begat Kenneth
(1915) who begat me, Michael (1944).
I have included some family unit charts and other information which might be helpful. . . .
I was hoping that there would be information from some of the Nichols ancestors concerning John Nichols. I am especially interested in information concerning his parents whose names are unknown to me. In the 1880 census his parents were listed as from MD & Germany. They most likely stayed behind in Ohio. Since John's daughter Nellie lived until 1946 in Lowell, I was hopeful that her heirs might have some information. . .
