The following unidentified newspaper article was in a collection owned by Lowell Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    LITTLE GIRL CALLED

    Violet Eleen Powell was born January 1, 1927, and passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Powell, on October 9, 1930, at the age of 3 years, 9 months and 8 days. The little one was only sick about a day and everything that loving parents and medical aid could do was done but the death angel had set its seal and she was called. She was a most lovable child and will be greatly missed, not only in the home, but by the neighbors and relatives and friends.

    She leaves to mourn her death, her parents, and grandparents and many other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. J.E. Poer, pastor of the Christian church, conducted the service. Interment in Lowell cemetery in charge of Sheets and Son. The following acted as pall bearers: Marjorie Tuttle, Edna Tuttle, Helen Forney and Genevieve Burton.
