AGED VETERAN FOUND DEAD
WILFORD STRATTAN FOUND DEAD SUNDAY NOON. 86 YEARS OLD
This community was greatly shocked Sunday when it was learned that Wilford Strattan, one of the two old soldiers living in Cedar Creek township, had been found dead. He had been in his usual health and was down town Saturday talking with friends and to all appearances seemed as well as usual.Sunday morning he got up and went out to attend to a few chores he had usually taken care of and when he came back into the house he complained of feeling dizzy and was induced to go to bed for a short time. He seemed to be resting comfortably and when dinner was ready he was called and not receiving any answer, they shook him to awaken him. It was then found that he had answered the last call.
Wilford Strattan has been a resident of this community since he was a young man, and he enjoyed the esteem of a large circle of friends. When the war broke out he was under age for which soldiers were taken, but he was anxious to serve his country and finally got into the army until the war closed. He was a member of a Pennsylvania regiment.
Funeral services were held at the Weaver & Son funeral home yesterday and interment was made in the Lowell cemetery.
