Peter Heiser, son of Peter Heiser and Anna Maria Kieffer, was born in Besseringen, Merzig, Rhineland, on April 1, 1838. On April 7, 1874, he married Maria Spannan, daughter of Frierich Spannan and Marie Therese Remmert, in Crown Point, Indiana. She had been born on Nov. 29, 1853, in Erwitte, Wesphalia.

Peter Heiser died Dec. 22, 1916, in Hanover, Lake County, Indiana. He is buried in the Holy Name Cemetery in Hanover. His wife Maria died Dec. 26, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. She is also buried at Holy Name Cemetery.

The Holy Name Cemetery is actually in Cedar Lake, Indiana. According to a cemetery book at the Lowell Public Library, the following dates differ from what is above:
Michael Heiser's obituary appears in the June 3, 1954, Lowell Tribune and Fred Heiser's obituary appears in the Dec. 31, 1959, Lowell Tribune, so it would seem that those are the correct death years. Obviously Michael Heiser did not die on June 5 (his birthday), since his obituary appeared in the paper two days before his birthday would have occurred.
