Harold M. Heuson
- In honor of Harold Heusen, who left for army service this week, the Lowell fire department gave him a farewell party last Friday night. He was presented with a military kit.
The following Jan. 14, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 2:
LOWELL BUSINESS MAN INDUCTED IN ARMY THIS WEEK
Harold M. Heuson, operator of the "Pick & Whistle" restaurant on Commercial Ave. is the third Lowell business man lost to the army in the present conflict. Mr. Heuson has been a resident of Lowell for several years and started in the restaurant business about two years ago. Mrs. Heuson, the former Catherine Spry, will continue to conduct the restaurant in his absence.Also leaving for the induction center at Ft. Benjamin Harrison this week were five other Lowell men, one from Shelby and four from Cedar Lake, as follows:

A January 21, 1943, Lowell Tribune article (page 2, column 1) stated that Harold M. Heuson was sent to Washington, D.C., for basic training.
This May 6, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
- Pvt. Harold Heusen, stationed at Washington, D.C., was home with his wife last week-end.
An April 6, 1944, Lowell Tribune article (page 1, column 1) entitled "World War II Vets Installed in Lowell Legion" lists Harold Heuson, Coast Artillery, Washington, D.C., as one of nine honorably discharged World War II soldiers and one WAVE who were installed at Lowell Post 101, American Legion.
